Germany's northernmost campsite
Let's start in the north, on the beautiful island of Sylt. In this little haven, it's easy to forget that you're still in your own country. The sound of the waves, the wind in the sand and the occasional bird. Apart from that, the beautiful dune landscape offers everything you could wish for in a relaxing vacation. Sweet restaurants invite you to linger on the beach and the small town of Kampen makes every tourist's heart beat faster with its picturesque flair. A visit to this unique place is even worth the slightly longer journey through Denmark. To get to Sylt by camper, you have to cross the bridge to the neighboring island of Rømø and take the ferry to List. From there, heading south, it is only a stone's throw to the northernmost campsite in Germany, which is located directly between the beautiful coastal town of Kampen and the dunes of the North Sea coast.
Camping on the Wadden Sea
Away from the dunes and towards the Wadden Sea World Heritage Site. Many people forget that you can also be close to the sea in Germany. And in Wangerl, "close" doesn't mean near the sea, but directly by the sea, without walls or barriers. Here you can camp in the first row, get out of the camper with your morning coffee and put your feet directly in the water. If you don't necessarily need a beach, but would rather sit in your camping chair by the water, enjoy the fresh salt air and watch the passenger ships, this is the place for you. For all those interested in water sports, this campsite also offers the opportunity to take a close look at passing sailing ships or perhaps hire one at the adjacent harbor.

Spend the night in the middle of the beach
Who doesn't dream of a romantic night on the beach... without disturbing lights or noisy neighbors, simply enjoying the stars, hearing the sound of the sea and feeling the sand between your toes. In St. Peter-Ording you can make this dream come true. The full range of advantages of a motorhome unfolds here. You can stay overnight on the beach for days and have your own kitchen, bathroom and retreat with you. Simply pull out the camping chairs and sit by the water or let the children play on the beach carefree until it gets dark. For just six euros, you can choose the most beautiful spot on the beach and stay there, marvel at the sunset over the sea and let your mind wander. And if you find yourself short of social contacts or food, the Biehl campsite is only a few hundred meters away.
Spend the night like the kings of old
If you have always wanted to marvel at what is probably Germany's most beautiful UNESCO World Heritage Site, then the "Via Claudia" campsite is the right place for you. Just a few kilometers from Neuschwanstein Castle, you can not only take a day trip to the residence of the Sun King Ludwig - the campsite between beautiful lakes and breathtaking mountain landscapes is also the ideal starting point for all nature lovers, mountaineers and stand-up paddlers. "Via Claudia" is particularly praised for its sanitary facilities. Not only the modern condition, but also the creative wall design with pictures of toilets from all over the world contribute greatly to the feel-good atmosphere.

Camping next to a former firespewing volcanoes
Finally, a tip for all adventurers and volcano enthusiasts. We always think of Germany as a safe country that is fortunately less affected by natural disasters. But that wasn't always the case. More than 10,000 years ago, today's Volcanic Eifel, whose name is reminiscent of prehistoric times, was still a high-risk volcanic area. Today, the only reminders of spewing volcanoes and lava fields are the powder maars, whose diameters of up to 650 m were created by magma chambers that formed beneath the surface. If you want to find out more about the formation of the volcanic Eifel and take a vacation in this fascinating region, whose green forests and eternal fields no longer suggest that glowing lava once dominated life here, then the Pulvermaar campsite is the right place for you. Enjoy the cool maars, go hiking or visit one of the many caves in this region.
As you can see, our good old Germany has a lot to offer. And with your Ahorn motorhome, you are always flexible and can make the most of your vacation wherever you are.
