This not only includes a thorough spring clean, but also an important check of inlets, drains, gas and water levels. <\/strong>What's the best way to organize spring cleaning? And what do I need to consider after a long winter? We have put together some useful steps and tips below to help you get your motorhome ready for the new season and plan your next trips without any worries.<\/strong><\/p>\n

How to carry out your spring cleaning<\/h5>\n

First of all, it should be mentioned that spring cleaning is not only very important in the house. Your motorhome also benefits from a thorough cleaning and inspection of the exterior and interior. This makes it easier to detect any damage to the bodywork or seals. You should therefore thoroughly remove dust and dirt and check them carefully. If you detect any damage, contact your service partner immediately. If this is not repaired in time, it can lead to a leak.<\/p>\n

Your motorhome benefits from thorough cleaning and inspection of the exterior and interior<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Cleaning the roof is also very important. We recommend the use of a large ladder. Make sure you have a firm footing so that you can clean the roof surface without restrictions and, above all, without accidents. Please refrain from cleaning in a truck wash. The cleaning agents and brushes used there can damage the sensitive plastic parts of your motorhome. When using cleaning agents, ensure that they are suitable for use on GRP superstructures. The use of abrasive cleaners is not recommended.<\/p>\n

Following thorough exterior cleaning, you can use a seal care product. Dryness and cold quickly cause them to become porous and form small cracks. To make sure that no frost damage has occurred to the pipe over the winter, it must be checked thoroughly. First close all open valves and taps in the bathroom and kitchen (middle position between hot and cold). Once all drains are closed, fill the water tank. Switch on the water pump once it is completely full. Now check all water pipes, hose clamps and connectors. The taps, shower and toilet flush must also be checked for suitability.<\/p>\n

At the same time, check the waste water pipes and the tightness of the waste water tank. Also check the toilet cassette for leaks and replace the seal if necessary.<\/p>\n

\"\" Connecting the gas and checking for leaks<\/h6>\n

At the start of each season, we recommend determining the quantity in your gas cylinder and having it refilled if necessary. When connecting the gas cylinder to the gas system, please ensure that it is completely sealed and that no gas can escape.<\/p>\n

If you do not have a leak detection spray to hand, you can also mix washing-up liquid with a little water and apply this solution to the transitions. If these are leaking, small bubbles will now appear.<\/p>\n

\"\" Installing batteries - connecting and charging<\/h6>\n

Insert the battery removed over the winter and connect it to the power circuit. You should now fully charge the battery and keep an eye on the charge level for a few days. If the battery has discharged completely during the winter break, it may discharge again too quickly. This would not be beneficial for your next trip. We would therefore recommend replacing the battery in such a case.<\/p>\n

It is important to check the oil level not only at the start of the season, but also before every longer trip. After the vehicle has been parked for a long time, it is also advisable to check under the engine compartment to see if any oil has leaked out while the vehicle has been parked.<\/p>\n

Make sure that the fill level corresponds to the prescribed quantity. If necessary, top it up with the engine oil intended for your vehicle.<\/p>\n

Check the position of your headlights before every journey. These can vary depending on the tire pressure and load of the vehicle. This not only impairs your visibility in the dark, but can also dazzle oncoming drivers and lead to dangerous situations.<\/p>\n

Last but not least, you should check and adjust the tire pressure of your vehicle. At the same time, you should also check the tread depth of your tires.
