The Ahorn Camp BIS Baskets Speyer have suffered another setback. Coach Carl Mbassa's team lost 70-80 (40-44) to Orange Academy from Ulm in the 2nd Basketball Bundesliga ProB. "It was a disappointing performance," said BIS sports manager Gerd Kopf after the game in the PSD Bank Halle Nord: "The decisive factor was that we didn't move the ball enough and wanted to put our head through the wall too often."
After a promising opening phase with a 12:0 run and a 14:2 lead, the Ahorn Camp BIS Baskets lost the thread. From then on, the young Ulm team dominated the game and laid the foundation for success in the second quarter, which the Swabians won 28:18. The best scorers for Speyer were Darian Cardenas Ruda (23), Tim Schwartz (13) and Marc Liyanage (12).
The next task for the Speyerer is on Saturday, 13 February, starting at 18 o'clock with the Dresden Titans on the program.
