Camper insider tips 2022
These are the top travel destinations for 2022Still looking for the perfect spots for your camping trip in 2022? We have found the most beautiful, exciting and secret destinations and put together an exclusive collection. Whether you're traveling by motorhome or campervan, self-sufficient or with land supply, there's something for everyone among the best destinations in 2022.
The Triglav National Park in Slovenia
This small but very natural country is a paradise for all campers. The Triglav National Park, named after the 2860m high Triglav mountain, is still home to brown bears, lynxes, marmots and many other European exotics. The small country has no shortage of camping sites. Although free camping is prohibited in order to protect nature, there are some pitches that allow self-sufficient camping without any problems. Depending on whether you prefer outdoor activities such as hiking and rafting in the Soca Valley or a relaxing day at Lake Bled, there are also a number of campsites with modern infrastructure that invite you to linger.
In addition to turquoise-blue lakes, lush green forests and architecturally remarkable towns, the south-eastern part of the country also has direct access to the sea. The small corner of the country around the port city of Piran exudes a very special magic and is definitely worth a visit.

The French Vosges
Always following the Palatinate Forest, you will come across the low mountain range in eastern France, the Vosges. In addition to lush green forests and steep rocky cliffs, you will also find countless lakes here. One "Lac" - lake in French - follows the next. And for the less nature-loving, the Vosges offer cute little towns with great food, small alleyways and lovingly decorated stores. Here you can sit in the sun for hours, enjoy a crêpe or two and unwind.
Hikers also get their money's worth here. Landscapes that could be mistaken for the Scottish Highlands can easily be found using popular hiking apps such as Komoot or similar, or even discovered all by yourself on a walk. However, a visit to the Vosges should definitely include a stop at the llama farm in La Bresse. The unspoiled farm only allows a few visitors at a time to see the animals, which are hardly ever disturbed by those present. With a bit of luck, you might even get a funny snapshot or two of one of the woolly Peruvians.
Mecklenburg Lake District
One of the most beautiful German destinations awaits in the north of Germany. About halfway between Berlin and the Baltic Sea coast, the Mecklenburg Lake District is a dream for all campers. In addition to the scenic location, the region also offers countless leisure activities for the whole family. Thanks to the vastness of the region, the lake district does not feel overcrowded even at peak travel times, but offers plenty of quiet spots to relax. The largest lake in the Mecklenburg Lake District is the Müritz, which consists of several large and small lakes.
Whether outdoor activities such as cycling or hiking or a day trip to one of the small colorful towns such as Röbel, Malchow or Tetrow - a vacation in this region is versatile. A special highlight for all campers is, of course, the water. From swimming and splashing around to sporting activities such as stand-up paddling or diving, there are numerous options here. Traveling to the Mecklenburg Lake District with a motorhome is particularly ideal because there are numerous campsites and pitches here. Here, too, the choice is varied: from well-equipped campsites with children's programs and play areas to secluded pitches right by the water.

Stockholm archipelago in Sweden
One destination that is not quite around the corner, but is definitely worth a visit, is the so-called archipelago off Stockholm. The skerries are small rocky archipelagos that were formed during the ice age and now bear this peculiar name. Many of the 24,000 Swedish archipelagos are located around Stockholm and are smaller than 2 km². Some of these islands are connected by bridges, others can be easily reached by water cab - an absolute paradise for self-sufficient campers. There are countless pitches and free sites here, where everyone's right applies. Those who really want peace and quiet will find their inner peace here.
But this area is also perfect for canoeing or kayaking. Paddle boats for one to three people are available in many places for little money. So you can either plan a sporty day trip or even start a multi-day trip with some provisions and a small tent. You may be on the open sea here, but thanks to the countless small islands, one thing is certain: land is always in sight. A quick picnic? No problem. Almost all the islands are uninhabited and can be accessed by anyone at any time. What you should definitely pack in your rucksack in Sweden: Kanelbullar! These delicious cinnamon buns are an absolute culinary highlight alongside the many unique landscape highlights in Stockholm's archipelago.
Andorra
The dwarf state of Andorra is located in the middle of the Pyrenees. It makes a great little stopover on the way to France or Spain. Lush green slopes and forests all around offer a breathtaking backdrop and are ideal for cycling and hiking. In winter, Andorra is one of the most popular ski regions and in summer, life comes to life in the capital Andorra la Vella. The highest capital in Europe looks like a relic from a film with its stone churches and old alleyways, yet it is colorful and modern.
As only 8% of the country is built on, Andorra offers plenty of opportunities to live it up. The few, but lovingly maintained campsites offer space for 40-100 motorhomes. You can set off on an excursion from there at any time. Andorra is characterized by both French and Spanish culture, which means that not only are both languages spoken, but also the cuisine. In addition to the national dish Trinxat made from potatoes and cabbage and the many types of cheese, there are many great Mediterranean restaurants in the capital. Due to the small size of Andorra, you don't need to plan too much time, but for a few days of relaxation while passing through or a short trip, Andorra is an absolutely perfect camping destination.

From the Stockholm archipelago in the very north of Europe to southern Andorra, we have some travel tips for 2022. Whether you're looking for a longer stay, a short trip, a campsite or a pitch, each of these destinations offers something very special.
