1000 new trees for the Mutterstadt forest recreation area
The association WOHNmobil für Klimaschutz e.V. and the motorhome manufacturer AHORN Camp have jointly donated 1,000 trees. They planted 750 of them themselvesSpeyer. "We are delighted to have found a partner in the motorhome manufacturer AHORN Camp that is committed to environmental and climate protection together with us," explains Albert Märkl, founder and chairman of the nationwide association WOHNmobil für Klimaschutz e.V.
The non-profit association of motorhome owners and campers makes an important contribution to environmental and climate protection with its campaigns. "When we protect our nature, we also protect our climate," emphasizes Märkl. The active campers donate and plant trees throughout Germany for a climate-stable mixed forest - almost 5,000 seedlings so far - and thus help to protect important habitats such as moors and orchards. The association has also launched an ECO certificate for motorhome pitches, which is awarded to ecologically designed pitches.
The association is looking for partners from the caravanning industry for its commitment. The Speyer-based company AHORN Camp has been supporting the campers' activities since last year. "As a company, we are aware of our social responsibility with regard to climate protection," says AHORN Camp Managing Director Alexander Reichmann. "That's why we are delighted to be working with Wohnmobil für Klimaschutz to reforest the forests in our region. Forests are the lungs of the earth. And for us, motorhomes and climate protection clearly belong together.
On Friday, 10.03.2023, the first joint tree planting campaign was on the agenda. Under the expert guidance of district forester Mr. Georg Spang, members of the association and employees of AHORN Camp planted 750 donated trees in a wooded area in the Mutterstadt forest recreation area. Business partners of Ahorn Camp as well as representatives of the press and regional politicians were also present. This not only strengthens the forest, but also the sense of community and the exchange between all those involved.
